Parents named as “persons of interest” in missing children case

Police in Idaho are struggling to make progress in a case of two missing children. They have received hundreds of tips regarding Joshua Vallow, 7, and Tylee Ryan, 17 who have been missing since September.

But the parents of the two missing children are not co-operating with the investigation and police in Rexburg say that the parents have not been able to show any proof that the children are safe. They never reported the children as missing and at first, had told police that Joshua a child with special needs, was in fact I Arizona.

Parents Chad and Lori Daybell only got married a few months ago after both of their previous spouses had died in peculiar circumstances.

Chad’s previous wife, Tammy Daybell was found dead in their house. At first it was believed that she had died of natural causes, but her remains have since been exhumed and an autopsy will be done.

Charles Vallow, Lori’s former husband was killed in July during a confrontation with Lori’s brother, Alex Cox who claims to have killed Vallow in self-defence. Cox too, died in December.

Several authorities are involved in the investigation including Salt Lake City FBI, Fremont County Sheriff, police in Chandler and Gilber, Arizona.

The parents claim they love their children and have made announcements through an attorney that they will address “allegations once they have moved beyond speculation and rumor.”
