Nike designs new shoe for health professionals but most nurses can’t afford them

Shoe and sports gear giant, Nike designed shoes especially for nurses and doctors who spend long hours on their feet. These new shoes, the Air Zoom Pulse, will be available from December 13, 2019 at the stiff price of $120 a pair.

Nike advertises the shoes with a Zoom AIR unit in the heal and a full-length foam midsole saying: “they help keep you comfortable no matter how long your shift lasts.” The shoes come in various colors and are easy to clean. Nike says that “100% of the profits will be donated to OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital.”

Staff from OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital were also the official testers of the shoes giving feedback to Nike.

Sadly, the marketing team at Nike seems to have made a miscalculation, making the shoes too expensive for the very people they made them for! Nurses have taken to social media saying that although it seemed like a great product, they would not be able to afford them on their nurse’s salary.
