The 45 foot tree falling down on Thanksgiving night promted the Downtown Boise Association to postpone holiday tree lighting at the Grove Plaza.
The reason for the tree falling is not known but enough damage was caused for the tree to be declared unsafe. “Public safety is our main concern so the event is postponed to a later date,” said the Downtown Boise Association.
It is expected the the new date for the event will be announced early next week, but there is still plenty to keep one entertained in Downtown Boise on Friday night.
The Boise Centre still glitters and glows with the 36th Annual St. Alphonsus Festival of Trees until Sunday 1st December and Idaho Steelheards take on Rapid City Rush on the ice at 7:10 p.m. Empty Bowls is selling warm soup at in aid of the Idaho Foodbank through 1:30 p.m.
