A Utah company has received a $99,000 contract from the state of Idaho to look into expanding Medicaid eligibility in the state of Idaho, according to a story in the Idaho Statesman.
In light of the Supreme Court decision approving Obamacare, states now can make a decision on what to do with their state-based program to assist low income citizens with health needs. Gov. Butch Otter has appointed a 12-person panel for recommendations and both the panel and the Utah group are to report findings back to him in September.
Here again our taxpayer dollars are spent on out of state businesses. This should have been given to an Idaho company. I’,m sure that some company in Idaho would have been qualified to do this and this money stays in Idaho and provides much needed jobs. Another typical Republican attitude that they do not care about the average working class. Shame on whoever awarded this contract out of state.
