Renewable energy projects in Idaho have not fared well

With the failure of three highly touted renewable energy projects–two solar plants and a biomass project in trouble–and not much support in the state for wind and solar power, a story in the Idaho Statesman says the future of renewable energy in Idaho is not favorable.

In addition, an attorney representing wind and energy interests says he sees little support in the state for those kinds of projects.

Idaho has an Office of Energy Resources, which is supposed to be funded by geothermal leases, but those leases have not yielded much so the office’s future is in doubt.

There IS support in the private sector, but perhaps what is lacking is a game plan which EXCLUDES government grants or “support”. Any entrepreneurs interested in pursuing this gold mine?
