Kootenai officials defend rewrite of county land-use revision process

A north Idaho Republican group has taken issue with some provisions and the process used in updating Kootenai County’s land-use code, but one county commissioner and a manager of the company contracted to assist in updating the plan say some of the criticisms are unfounded, according to a story in the Coeur d”Alene Press.

A resolution passed 42-2 by the Kootenai County Republican Central Committee says the changes to the existing plan violate private property rights and that stakeholders have not had enough input into the process.
