Idaho Power asking IPUC for more leeway in managing alternative energy

This week the Idaho Public Utilities Commission is holding hearings on the amount of alternative energy Idaho’s utilities should be required to purchase and at what price, according to a story in the Idaho Statesman.

Among the issues presented to the commission is a request by Idaho Power for authority to manage wind power in times of low energy use to save ratepayers money for power the company does not need.
