Lawerence Denney, R-Midvale, speaker of the Idaho House, and Mike Moyle, R-Star, majority leader of the Idaho House, told the Idaho Statesman they would like to see the state resist implementation of a state-run health exchange and not expand the state’s Medicaid program.
Moyle said he is OK with the federal government running an exchange, adding he sees no reason for Idaho’s insurers to oppose a federal exchange, as is the case with Blue Cross and Blue Shield.
Denney said the state should oppose a ruling made by the Internal Revenue Service that, despite no such provision in Obamacare, allows for fines for non-compliance under a federally run program.
As for Medicaid, the two lawmakers said in a joint statement that the state likely can’t afford to expand the program.
They can’t expand medicaid but the average politician has increased their income by 300% to an average starting pay of $120,000 up to Boehner who grosses more then Obama. They are a bunch of fat cats and we need to starve them not the working class. Furthermore, its pretty silly to me that the GOP would be whining about welfare recipients and not going after the biggest unchecked waste and abuse of America, the ER rooms of our hospitals. The American ER Room is a place where the uninsured like to go and rack up bills they cannot pay, if you are uninsured you are frequenting the ER and that is stealing from the taxpayers. Personal responsiblity should start with those that can afford insurance, how can the GOP justify going after the poor and not those that can afford medical insurance?
