177 wolves have been harvested since the season opened last fall
Seven of Idaho’s 12 wolf hunting zones are now closed for the season in the state’s first sanctioned hunt. The Salmon zone in north east Idaho, which includes the Salmon National Forest and cities of Salmon and Challis, has reached its quota of 16 wolf harvests, according to the Idaho Department of Fish and Game (IDFG). Hunters have killed 177 wolves as of Tuesday. The statewide limit is 220 wolves for the hunt that is scheduled to end March 31.
