An inmate was found hanging in his cell Wednesday night
An apparent suicide by an inmate at the Idaho Maximum Security Institution (IMSI) south of Boise is under investigation by the Idaho Department of Correction (IDOC) and Ada County Sheriff’s Office.
Shad Patrick Streeter was found hanging in his cell early Wednesday morning, and couldn’t be revived. He was sentenced in 2006 to two to 10 years in prison for aggravated battery.
IMSI has 392 beds and houses Idaho’s most violent offenders. IDOC’s standard protocol is for the sheriff’s office to conduct an independent investigation surrounding an inmate’s death.
