Democrat Keith Allred fired back the Idaho Republican Party, expressing regret for missing the filing deadline.

Allred’s response pertaining to the charges:

Candidate for Governor Keith Allred filed his 2009 annual lobbyist report with the Secretary of State today.  Allred expressed regret for missing the January 31, 2009 deadline.

Although Allred was not required to register as a lobbyist, he chose to do so out of respect for Idahoans who are interested in understanding how The Common Interest and The Common Interest in Action interact with our state government.

“Because I have never been compensated for lobbying or for any other work I’ve done on behalf of The Common Interest or The Common Interest in Action, I was never required by state law to register as a lobbyist.  I chose to do so in the interest of full disclosure.  I have now filed the Lobbyist Annual Report Form L-2.”

It is unclear whether or not Allred was forced to pay any fines to the state over the missed deadline.
